Using a female plug, you can extend your festoon belt. Simply cut off the end of the standard festoon belt and attach the loose female plug.
When cutting one of our festoon belts at any point, two wires will be exposed: the plus and the minus.
These wires can be connected to the female plug. Make sure to make the connection waterproof by applying heat shrink tubing. Click here for the complete installation manual for the female plug.
Ensure that the connection between the plug and the socket is protected against the weather when used outdoors. This can be done, for example, by placing this connection under a roof or hanging it in such a way that it cannot retain water. Another option to protect this connection is with a large heat shrink tube (not available on our website). Despite the fact that the product is water-resistant, it is less resistant to rain than, for example, our festoon belts. When using the product outdoors it is better to use our extendable festoon belts instead of mounting a female plug. The rubber part in the extendable festoon belts can be tightened, which protects the connections better.
