The AutoTest function means that a fixture automatically tests itself at pre-programmed moments. There are two tests: one is a short function test once a month and the other one is a full duration test of 3 hours once a year. When the fixture is working, the indicator on the auto test models will emit a green light. If the fixture detects a problem during an auto test, the indicator light will change from green to red. This is to let you know there is a problem and action must be taken. The fixtures are designed in such a way that the battery provides a minimum of 3 hours of light during a power failure.
